Demonstrators block a key Pakistan-China commerce route over energy outages

PESHAWAR, Pakistan — A whole bunch of protesters angered by energy outages have blocked a key freeway in northern Pakistan, officers stated on Tuesday. The blockade is disrupting bilateral commerce with neighboring China and forcing vacationers to take longer routes to go to the area.

The protest initially started with a rally over the weekend and expanded the next day when demonstrators within the metropolis of Aliabad within the Gilgit Baltistan area blocked the primary Karakoram freeway, stated authorities spokesperson Faizullah Faraq.

He stated authorities are in talks with the protesters to steer them to finish the protest.
